How My Friend Got a Job through Remote Daily

This past summer my friend, Katie Blasing attended a Remote Daily session with the featured guest Jessica Cordova Kramer. Kramer is the CEO of Lemonada Media, a woman-led podcasting company. In that session, Kramer talked about her experience in the industry and her approach to creating a podcast. Little did Katie know she was listening to her future boss! I took some time to talk to Katie about how that initial introduction led to her landing her dream job.

What was your experience attending the show?
My experience was really positive. The few shows I attended so far I found all really fascinating. Each speaker has so much to say and so much value. I really love attending. It’s such a great way to open the door to something new and learn something you may not have heard about.
What surprised you about that particular session?
The show I attended was really great. It was with the CEO of Lemonada Jessica Cordova Kramer. I was really inspired by her talk about how she was running this company that was founded by women with a mission. What surprised me and what I found to be a really pleasant moment was how much of a discussion it was and how much she invited people’s feedback. And I realized Remote Daily was a place for collaboration and discussion.That really resonated with me. Because I was looking for a job at the time and I decided to look into her company and attend this talk. After hearing her speak I just knew I really wanted to work at Lemonada and so I went through the application process there and fortunately I now find myself in the role of Marketing Associate at Lemonada Media. And it’s all thanks to you telling me to attend this talk.
How did attending Remote Daily help you in the hiring process?
It definitely gave me a lot of insight into what this company was about so when the interview process came I had more of a connection than somebody who didn’t have the opportunity.
Who do you recommend Remote Daily to?
I would recommend Remote Daily to anybody and everybody. But I guess if we were to get specific, it would be to people who want to be involved in discussions they may not have often. Or someone who would like to learn a new perspective. If you have an open mind I think Remote Daily is right for you!
