POSTPONED - Helping From Afar with Summia Tora

The Dosti Network with Summia Tora

In August 2021, the collapse of the Afghan government left tens of thousands of people facing the threat of persecution and violence under the newly minted Taliban regime. But despite dire straits, Summia Tora launched the Dosti Network as the first Afghan Rhodes Scholar at the age of 24. The Network helps lead a global effort to aid Afghans fleeing persecution with resources to resettle in a safe country and gain access to essential local resources. The organization was borne out of Summia’s own harrowing efforts to evacuate her family from the country in crisis. Join us this Friday at 1pm to chat with this bold social entrepreneur and women’s rights activist, who harnessed her experiences growing up as an Afghan refugee in Pakistan to advocate for and support refugee resettlement!
